Frequently Asked Questions
Besides the obvious reasons such as the terrible smell, the insects and rodents they attract, and the terrible eyesore they create; dirty trash bins carry harmful bacteria and viruses that pose a threat to you and your family. Your trash bins are a breeding ground to dangerous bacteria such as Listeria, Salmonella, Listeria, and E-Coli. There are 411 different kinds of bacteria per square inch breeding in your trash can. Hosing them off with a garden hose is just not going to cut it. We kill 99.9% by using 180 degree water and biodegradable cleaners to ensure that your bins have been sanitized, deodorized, and disinfected.
Eco-clean will come to your residence on your regular trash collection day, or the day immediately following. Right at your curbside, our fully automated truck will disinfect, sanitize, and deodorize your scheduled trash bins. We request that you please have your bins curbside, ready for cleaning. Our system will automatically send you an email the day before to remind you. If you are unable to, as long as they are reasonably accessible, and visible; we’ll bring them down to our truck. When our technicians are done with your can, we will put it back where we found it.
Of course you can, but think about in-effectiveness and the environmental impact you will be making. You can use up to 15 gallons or more cleaning your trash bin with a hose, where as Eco-cleans cleaning solution three time less in one cleaning cycle. That’s 15 more gallons wasted, and 15 more gallons of polluted water running into our water system. Not to mention the hazardous chemical and cleaning agents ILLEGALLY running into the storm drain and into our rivers and streams.
Let’s keep in mind that this is trash we are talking about. Trash bins will get dirty with every use, and will start to get smelly regardless of our efforts to contain our waste. We recommend cleaning your bins on a monthly basis. This maintenance schedule will keep your bins visually clean, and give you the peace of mind knowing your protecting your family from the potential bacterial dangers.
Sure you can. However, your bins are best served when enrolled in a service plan, and are maintained regularly. One-time and first time cleanings take considerably longer than those on a maintenance schedule, due to the years of dirt and grime build-up. Its for this reason we price them accordingly.
Sorry, but unfortunately no. Each trash bin and container that is on a service plan has its own identification, and only bins that have a scheduled service will be cleaned.
Apart from the fact that your cans will be sparkling clean, and smelling brand new; we will apply a peace of green tape to the lid or handle of your trash bin. This means your cans have be sanitized, disinfected, and deodorized; and they are ready to be put back into your garage.
Once you have signed up for a cleaning or a service plan, we will contact you and let you know your scheduled cleaning days. We also send you an email reminder the day before your scheduled cleaning to let you know we are coming, and to have your cans out and ready to be serviced.
This is not a problem at all. Simply give us a call or shoot us an email at least 24 hours before your cleaning, and we will try to reschedule your cleaning within the same not. If not, we will credit your account and skip your cleaning for that month. Unfortunately, if you do not contact us at least 24 hours before your scheduled cleaning, we will show up to clean your cans and your account will not be credited.
Preferably, your bins and containers will be empty on your cleaning day; based on your scheduled date and our email reminders we will come the day of or the day immediately following your collection day; but we understand that sometimes unforeseen things happen. If there is trash still in your bins, we prefer it be bagged. If this is the case we will clean your bins and place the bags back in afterwards. We will make our best effort to work around the trash, but if there is loose trash or yard clippings, we unfortunately will not be able to clean your bins that day and your account will not be credited.
If for some reason your bins are not out on your scheduled cleaning day, our technician will leave a door hanger on your door with his contact information. We will make our best attempt to reschedule a day, but with growing volumes on our routes, if this is not possible, we will unfortunately not be able to clean your bins for that cycle. Though if you’re bins are reasonably accessible (i.e. not hidden or in a locked area) and visible from the street, our technicians will bring them curbside and complete your cleaning.
Please keep in mind that the first cleaning usually takes much longer, and sometimes the initial cleaning will not remove all of the years of built up grime and grease. We have found that tough-to-clean cans respond very well after your bins are on a regular maintence schedule. We’ll make every effort to clean your bins to the highest standards, and in time, they will look spotless. Alternatively, every cleaning will leave your bins disinfected, and odor free.
